I met Yogi thru the pool league and immediately knew that i had made a lifelong friend. I enjoyed being around him, talking to him, and playing against him,.... everybody did. He was a person that just made your day a lot better by just seeing him. His stories, whether it was about "Old Hoover" (sorry Shirley) or his Navy days just made you crack up. The world lost a great man and a legend. I cherish the friendship and I will always respect his memory. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. You guys will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to the Venable family My name is Bill Kuhl and used to live at 21 West 21 St. I believe it was James who taught me cords on my first guitar when I was 18 years old that was 55 years ago. I will never forget him for that. James and his family was always nice to my family. The sorrow will pass but the love and memories of James will live on FOREVER.
