“How often do we come in contact with men and women in whose presence we may dwell only for a short time, but we can never look on their countenance or be in any way associated with them without being made better, or lifted up!” Booker T. Washington. This quote sums up my 49 years of friends with Deborah. I and many others were made better because of our relationship with Deborah. She would flash that broad, beautiful, and infectious smile at everyone she interacted with. She always uplifted my spirits when I needed it the most. I will miss our lengthy telephone and in person conversations about college days, college friends, our children and spouses, our careers, and about the service rendered for our churches and for God. While death is inevitable, it still hurts to lose our loved ones. To Rodney, Jackie, James, Russell, Sheila, and Aunt Sallie I pray that your faith and God’s presence, His power, and His grace will strengthen you and sustain you through these difficult days. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Deepest sympathy and love, Charlotte Brookins-Hudson and Family
