With heavy heart I have to write these words to express my condolences to the Nelson family. I had a lot of talks and visits with Jackie and I am so happy she was a part of my life for over 30 years when we first met at work at the Port Authority. Jackie will always be in my heart and one of my best friends, which I don't use that word lightly. I loved her and will miss her so much. She loved all her children so deeply and I wish you strength and love in this difficult time, Denise and Greg

I write this with a broken heart ?. Jackie and I registered( in person back then) on the same day,to attend Lane College in my hometown of Jackson, Tennessee. I met her through my sister, Gertrude, who was Jackie’s High School PE teacher. From that day on we became friends for life. I would look forward to hanging out with her at homecoming. Our last phone call was about if we were going to go to homecoming. We both decided not this year. Homecomings will not be same. Missing you ?

To the Nelson family, may you get the divine healing you need to get through this unfortunate time your family has experienced. Words will never comfort the emptiness you may be feeling, but I pray that your family continue to let God's grace guide you. And to Jamil, sorry I will not be in attendance my brother, just know I am keeping you close in prayer and wishing you, as well as your family, the strength to get through this time.

Jackie B, as we called her, will be missed down here on earth. But heaven will be gaining. God wants some beautiful roses in His garden. He has received a "Great Rose" this time. We love you all. The Woody-Irons Family

This is one of times when one feels as if you’re in an unbelievable bad dream. Jackie and I were daughters of 2 sisters. Both sisters are now deceased. I was about 12 when Auntie Dear asked me for a name for her unborn child if it was a girl. I said Jacqueline Delisha. She liked it. I am 12 1/2 years older than Jackie. So, we didn’t spend a lot of time together in years past. There were always times we gathered at our grandparents in Grand Jct. Tennessee. Jackie and her family often visited my mama in Memphis, Tennessee while visiting from New Jersey. I’m not able to attend the services this weekend due to my diagnosis of end stage heart failure and my travels are restricted. My heart felt sympathy and prayers are with her adult children and 3 grandchildren. I was in the hospital in Washington D.C most of last year. Jackie, Tiffanie, Kyleigh and Conner visited me in the hospital before my surgery. It was a very thoughtful and sweet visit. I’m so happy we were able to see each other for the first time in 16 years. Rest well dear cousin, you’re among great company with our mothers.
