Earnest W. Davis, 72, of Jersey City passed away on February 23, 2022, while in Jersey City Medical Center, after a prolonged illness. 

 

Earnest was born to the late Phell Davis Jr. and Mary Davis-Winckler on March 1, 1949, in Mecklenburg County, VA. He graduated from Lincoln High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a HVAC Tech with the NY/NJ Port Authority for 20 years. Earnest was also the owner of E. Davis Construction & AC-Refrigeration. Master Crafter. 

 

Earnest gave his life to Christ in 1999 and was baptized by Rev. Joe D. McClain at Greater Bethel Baptist Church, (Newark, NJ).

 

Earnest is preceded in death by parents, Phell Davis Jr. and Mary Davis-Winckler, his sister Janice Davis and daughter Tomekia Davis.

 

Earnest is survived by his wife of twenty years Jacqueline Davis; Two daughters, Sherri Bell (Daniel) of Bloomfield, NJ; Diamond Davis of Bronx, NY, Two sons, Earnest W. Davis II of Linden, NJ and Aaron Henriquez of North Bergen, NJ. Stepchildren – Sadruddin Shannon, Mecca Shabazz. Grandchildren, Melissa Pack (Alicia), Mia Frazier, Darius Bell, Xavier Bell, Honesty Bowers, Steniya Townsend and Wasiim Shannon. Three Greatgrand children, Faith Fils-Aime, Adonis Mickens and Aden Mickens. Two sisters, Catherine Walker (Jasper) and Barbara Jean Davis.
